RAPIDE final conference 15 – 16 June 2010

The final conference concentrated on following issues:

  • Review and reflect on the RAPIDE journey with its low- and highlights;
  • Express the commitment on implementing our Action Plans within the ERDF mainstream programmes by signing all Action Plans;
  • Continuation of the dialogue with the European Commission on RAPIDE achievements and policy recommendations;
  • Provide a discussion platform to partners wishing to continue working together in the future;
  • and last but not least the partners Celebrate their achievements!

Regions for Economic Change Conference 20 – 21 May 2010

The RAPIDE Fast Track project was invited by the Commissioner for regional policy, Johannes Hahn to present its experience with the Fast Track status at the Regions for Economic Change Conference 2010. Dirk Ahner, General Director of DG REGIO personally thanked the RAPIDE partners for the efforts and the development of the RAPIDE Action Plans and Commissioner Hahn welcomed representatives from the RAPIDE network to discuss their policies with them.

RAPIDE in Action conference 24 March 2010

DG REGIO and the RAPIDE network combined forces to organise the RAPIDE in Action conference on 24th March 2010. Its purpose was to ensure the engagement of all regional and European stakeholders in the implementation of the RAPIDE Action Plans.

Open days 2009

During the European Week of Regions and Cities 5 – 8 October in Brussels, the RAPIDE network made its way to the elite of Europe’s projects. The hard work of RAPIDE and its partners was very well received by the European Commission and the wider European innovation society.

Financing is critical at Patras working summit

On 12-13 February 2009 the RAPIDE working summit on financing innovation took place at the Patras Palace Hotel. The RAPIDE partners met for the second working summit to analyse case studies, exchange expertise on financing innovation and make use of the input from regional development agencies, management authorities, and financing experts.

First working summit in Cardiff, Wales

The first working summit of the RAPIDE network was on 09 December 2008 in Cardiff, UK. This working summit focussed on effective partnerships, one of the key themes. The Welsh Host Partner provided a case study for debate and scrutiny. Regional experts from all partner regions shared best practice and identified transferable elements which will feed into future Action Plans.

RAPIDE launched!

The 13 RAPIDE partners met for the launch of the project in Torun, Poland on 29 October 2008. The launch was an opportunity to revisit and agree the goals for the next two years. The afternoon sessions sought to refresh the key components of the RAPIDE approach - drawing out the best practice within regions, their experiences and methods. In her key note address, Juliet Williams from the RAPIDE lead partner South West of England insisted on the importance for moving interregional work from talk to action.
